Easy online access to more
journals
Most publishers now provide electronic access to full text
articles, mainly through databases. The Library subscribes
to the best of these databases and provides online access to thousands of
scholarly journal titles across the full range of the
University's teaching and research disciplines.
Access on and off campus
Staff and students can access e-articles off the DCU campus
as well as on it.
Managing large classes
E-articles can be accessed and downloaded by multiple users.
This is particularly important for larger classes where
there can be heavy competition for single copies of print articles.
Organise reading lists entirely from your own desktop
You can
manage access to individual electronic articles through Moodle, a web
page, or even a Word document.
Avoid copyright law complications
Changes to copyright legislation have made it increasingly
difficult to manage photocopying. As a result the Library has
discontinued its Photocopy Collection. Photocopying now means
complying with publishers' permissions procedures. However, by setting up pre-licensed
links to full text electronic articles, you can avoid having to
go the print route. |
