  Official publications
Information from government departments and central government organisations. They include legislation, policy documents, discussion documents and reports.

In Ireland, the Oireachtas, the Government, ministerial departments, state agencies and local authorities publish a wide variety of official documentation including legislation, debates, papers, reports, data and statistics. In addition, the judiciary produces judgments arising from legal disputes in the higher courts. Other countries produce and share similar information.

Official international organisations such as the European Union, the OECD, the United Nations, the World Bank and the World Trade Organisation also produce a wealth of legal, economic and statistical material.

Most of this information is freely available online.

The Library also holds an extensive print collection of Irish Official Publications. These are located in our "Government Publications" section of the Library's Reference collection on the ground floor.
